Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Review
Targeting to the people out of Chinese border, Xiaomi released Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, the successor of the Redmi Note 2. The Redmi Note 3 was officially launched on 2016, February with some new added features that were lacked in its predecessor. And yes, today we will be analyzing the same device.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, unlike its predecessor the Redmi Note 2, is completely made up of a metal. The rear panel receives matte like finish which makes the device less slippery. However, the top and bottom of the device are made up of a plastic. Coming to the front, the device, just like other mid-range smartphones, for example Oppo F3 and others, receives 2.5D curved corning gorilla glass which protects the screen from being scratched.
The device features an earpiece at the top followed by a front facing camera, various sensors and a notification LED light. The device features the capacitive home, recent app and back buttons at the bottom bezel and just like other smartphones manufactured by Xiaomi, these capacitive keys too lacks backlit.
The Redmi Note 3 carries a 3.5 mm headphone socket, an IR sensor and secondary mic at the top and the USB port at the bottom. The main camera is placed on the center at the rear along with the LED flashlight and a fingerprint sensor just below it. Moreover, the power key, the volume alteration keys and the hybrid SIM card slot can be noticed at the right side and left side respectively.
The Redmi Note 3 comes with 5.5 inches IPS LCD screen which has 1080 x 1920 pixels full HD resolution and ~403 ppi pixels density. The screen produces vibrant color. The screen also produces deeper black and whiter white and viewing angles also are good. The device also possesses an ambient light sensor which helps users by automatically adjusting brightness according to the environment. Also, the display features night mode that gives rest to the users’ eyes.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box and can be upgraded to Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. The device also features MIUI 8.0. The device is operated with Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 chipset, Hexa-Core (4 x 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 and 2 x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72) CPU, and Adreno 510 GPU. The device is available in both 16 GB and 32 GB of ROM and 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM. The storage can further be expanded to 128 GB using a microSD card.
Moreover, the Redmi Note 3 carries 16 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens, autofocus and dual-tone LED flashlight main camera. The main camera comes with various features like geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, Real Time HDR, etc. The device also carries 5 MP and f/2.0 aperture lens front facing camera. Besides, both main camera and front facing camera help to shoot videos at 1080 pixels.
Besides, the Redmi Note 3 equips 4050 mAh non-removable battery. The device is also supported by fast charging. The battery, just like other smartphones manufactured by Xiaomi, is good and can be used up to 1 to 2 days without any problem. The device is available in three colors; gold, gray and silver.
