Xiaomi Mi 4 Review
Xiaomi, despites being a Chinese mobile company, it is trying to manufacture and market smartphones that will suit the need of the customers of every region. And giving continuity to the same process, it released it’s another flagship smartphone, Xiaomi Mi 4, the predecessor of the Xiaomi Mi 5 and Mi 5S dated back to August 2014.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 made up of a metal and a plastic. The device receives metal work at the sides, whereas, the rear panel is made up of a plastic. The rear panel receives glossy plastic which makes the device a little bit slippery. The bezels too are neither big nor small. Moreover, the device receives corning gorilla glass at the front part.
The top bezels comprises of an earpiece followed by a front facing camera, various sensors and MI branding. The device features the capacitive home, recent app and back buttons at the bottom bezel. However, the capacitive buttons, like other old smartphones of Xiaomi, lacks backlit. Moreover, the notification LED light can be noticed below the home button while charging the device.
The Mi 4 features a 3.5 mm headphone socket, and an IR sensor at the top. Further, the device acquires the USB port, a speaker grille and a primary microphone at the bottom. The main camera is placed on the center at the rear along with the LED flashlight just below it and secondary mic above it. The device possesses power key and the volume alteration keys at the right side and the SIM slot is placed at the left side.
The Mi 4 features 5.0 inches high color-saturation IPS LCD screen with 1080 x 1920 pixels full HD resolution and ~441 ppi pixels density. The screen is enhanced with 1000:1 contrast ratio and produces vibrant color. The screen also produces deeper black and whiter white and viewing angles also are good. The device also features an ambient light sensor which helps users by automatically adjusting brightness according to the environment.
The Xiaomi Mi 4 is operated with Android 4.4.3 KitKat and MIUI 5.0. The device is also furnished with Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset, Quad-Core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU, and Adreno 330 GPU. The device is available in both 16 GB and 64 GB internal memory and 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM. The device, however, lacks microSD card slot.
Moreover, the Mi 4 carries 13 MP Sony Exmor stacked image sensor, f/1.8 aperture lens and autofocus main camera. The main camera also carries different features like 1/3″ sensor size, 1.12µm pixel size geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, Real Time HDR, etc. The device also acquires 8 MP and f/1.8 aperture lens front facing camera. The main camera helps to shoot UHD videos at 2160 pixels and front camera shoots videos at 1080 pixels.
Besides, the Mi 4 carries 3080 mAh non-removable battery. The device also possesses fast charging support. We all know that Xiaomi never compromises in the quality of their battery and same thing can be seen in Mi 4. The battery is good and can be used up to 1 to 2 days without any problem. The device is available in two colors; black and white.
