OnePlus 3 Review
Today we will inspect one of the famous smartphone known as OnePlus 3 manufactured by OnePlus, an international mobile phone manufacturer company. The company, after entering into the competition of smartphones with Apple Inc., Samsung Electronics and other smartphone manufacturers who where ruling it for number of years, manufactured smartphones that helped them to be one of the top mobile brands in the world. After the success of two devices, released their third smartphone named OnePlus 3 on June, 2016. The OnePlus 3 is the successor of OnePlus 2 and OnePlus X which were released on August 2015 and November 2015. Just like other smartphones using Android OS, OnePlus 3 is also a smartphone that uses Android OS and its own software to run the device.
The OnePlus 3, just like it’s predecessors, is made up of metal body and features a Corning Gorilla Glass 4 from front side. Moreover, the device has got the same look of the devices that are manufactured by OnePlus. Users can see an earpiece on the top of the device followed by front facing camera and sensors. The main screen features a home button at the bottom followed by a recent app and a back button. And just like OnePlus 2, the two capacitive buttons are supported by backlit functionality. Besides, just like other devices, a notification LED light can also be seen in the device. The device’s home button should not be pressed to return to the home screen.
Furthermore, users can observe that the device features a power button on the right side of its body. However, the volume adjusting keys have been placed at the left side of the device followed by alert slider below it. The dual SIM card tray can be found above the power button. The device, however, like its predecessors, lacks the microSD card tray. The USB Type-C port, a mic and a speaker grille can be noticed at the bottom part of the device. Moreover, a 3.5 mm stereo headphone port can also be seen at the bottom of the device. Moreover, users can spot an active noise cancellation mic at the top of the device.
The OnePlus 3, compared to its predecessor OnePlus 2 is thick and has gained some weight weighing 158 g. Furthermore, the OnePlus 3 comes with 5.5 inches Optic AMOLED capacitive touchscreen having the resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels ~401 ppi pixel density. Nevertheless, some of its predecessors like OnePlus One and OnePlus 2 had TFT LCD screen. Moreover, the device has got good viewing angles and has good contrast. The device features an ambient light sensor which allows the users to use their device even in the intense light without any hesitation and this sensor turns on the screen when the users take it out of the pocket. Furthermore, the device’s display is bright and provides realistic color.
Besides, the OnePlus 3 is equipped by Android OS v6.0.1 Marshmallow Oxygen OS 4.1 of the box and can is upgradable to Android OS v7.1.1 Nougat. Moreover, the device is featured by Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset. The device obtains Quad-Core (2 x 2.15 GHz Kryo and 2 x 1.6 GHz Kryo) CPU and similarly, the device is furnished by Adreno 530 GPU. Besides, the device comes with both 64 GB internal memory followed by 6 GB RAM.
In addition, users can notice that the OnePlus 3 is furnished by 16 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens, phase detection autofocus, OIS rear camera. However, the device features only single LED flashlight. The rear comes with features like ½.8″ sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. The rear camera captures video at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps and 720p@120fps. Moreover, the device features 8 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens front facing camera. The front camera receives features like 1/3.2″ sensor size, 1.4 µm pixel size and front camera also records video at 1080p.
The device comes with Li-Ion 3000 mAh non-removable battery. The battery, looking at its capacity may give nice battery backup. Moreover, the device, unlike its predecessors, features the fast charging functionality. The device gets charged 60% in 30 minutes with the help of dash charge. The device is available in Graphite and soft gold colors.
