Huawei Y6 Pro Review
Today we are reviewing a smartphone known as Huawei Y6 Pro aka Honor Play 5x manufactured by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, a well-known smartphone manufacturer. From its establishment, Huawei has been manufacturing different mobile networking equipment and smartphones. Giving continuity to this trend, dated back to October, 2015, Huawei released a smartphone called Huawei Y 6 Pro. The device was the successor of Huawei Y 6 and predecessor of Huawei Y6 II that were launched on 2015, July and 2016, October respectively.
Like its predecessor, the Huawei Y6 Pro is completely made up of plastic and has got metal frame and has got stylish look. However, we can see that the device, just like other mid-range smartphones, lacks protection of gorilla glass from the front. The device features an earpiece on the top of its screen followed by front facing camera, and different sensors on its forepart. Moreover, the capacitive home, recent app and back button are featured in the screen. Moreover, we can notice the notification of LED light next to the front facing camera.
Besides, we can observe a power button at the right-hand side of the device’s body followed by the volume alteration keys above it. However, that the device, just like its predecessor, lacks an easy key which works as a shortcut key. We can see a 3.5 mm earphone socket at the top of the body. A microphone followed by the dual speaker grilles and a microphone at the bottom of the device can also be noticed. The SIM cards slots and microSD card slot is featured beneath rear panel, however, the battery is non-removable. The main facing camera, a LED flashlight followed by an active noise cancellation mic can be noticed at the rear end of its body.
Coming to the display, the Huawei Y6 Pro features a 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen having its own user interface called EMUI 3.1. Besides, the device’s display features the 720 x 1280 pixels HD resolutions having ~294 ppi pixels density. The display is good, provides vibrant color output and has got different features to manage the screen. Besides, the device features an ambient light sensor which allows users to use their devices in the sunlight without any problem.
The Huawei Y6 Pro runs Android v5.1.1 Lollipop as an operating system out of the box, however it cannot be updated to any new software launched by Android. Moreover, the device features Mediatek MT6735P chipset. The device obtains Quad-Core 1.3 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali-T720MP2 GPU. Additionally, the Huawei Y6 Pro features 16 GB of internal memory which can be later expanded to 256 GB with the help of a microSD card. The device comes with 2 GB of RAM whereas, its predecessor the Huawei Y6 had only 8 GB of ROM and was available in 1 GB and 2 GB of RAMs.
Besides, the device possesses 13 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens, 28mm, autofocus rear camera at the rear part of its body. The rear camera has been furnished by features like geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. Furthermore, the device comes with 5 MP, f/2.2 aperture lens front facing camera. The rear camera is able to capture videos at 720p@30fps. However, its predecessor had 8 MP of rear camera and 2 MP of front camera.
The Huawei Y6 Pro is equipped by Li-Po 4000 mAh removable battery. And unlike its predecessor, the Huawei Y6 Pro supports both fast charging and power saving mode which is helps to charge the battery faster and save the battery respectively. The battery, having high capacity, may give nice battery backup. The device is available in champagne black and gold colors.
