Huawei Y6 Review
Today we are reviewing a smartphone known as Huawei Y6 manufactured by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd, a popular multinational company that has been serving the world by manufacturing networking and other equipment. Going with the flow of this trend, dated back to July 2015, Huawei introduced a smartphone named as Huawei Y6 and was the predecessor of Huawei Y6 Pro and Huawei Y6 II which were launched on October 2015 and 2016 respectively.
The device, the Huawei Y6, just like its successor, is made up of plastic and has got the support of metal frame which makes the device stylish. However, the device lacks the protection of gorilla glass from its front part. Moreover, the device possesses the same design as of other smartphones manufactured by the Huawei. We can notice an earpiece at the topmost part of the device’s screen and front facing camera along with different sensors. And just like many devices of Huawei, the capacitive home, recent app and back buttons are linked in the screen. Furthermore, the device supports the functionality of notification LED lamp.
Moreover, the device features power button on the right hand side of it’s body followed by a volume alteration buttons just above it. Nevertheless, we can notice that the device lacks an easy key button which was featured in the Huawei Y5 and Huawei Y5 II. The SIM cards slot and microSD card slots is featured beneath the back lid. Besides, the top part of the device’s body features a 3.5 mm earphone port. The dual speaker grilles can be felt at the bottom of device’s body along with the company of USB Type-B port and primary microphone. The rear part of the device features the main camera and LED flashlight along with an active noise cancellation mic.
Coming to the display, the Huawei Y6 features a 5.0 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen having its own user interface called EMUI 3.1. Moreover, the device’s display features the 720 x 1280 pixels HD resolutions having ~294 ppi pixels density. The display is good and has got different features to manage the screen. Besides, the device features an ambient light sensor which allows users to use their devices in the sunlight without any problem.
Furthermore, the Huawei Y6 features the Android v5.1 Lollipop as its operating system but could not be updated to any new software launched by Google. Talking about processors, the device features Qualcomm MSM8909 Snapdragon 210 chipset. Similarly, the device features Quad-core 4 x 1.1 GHz Cortex A7 CPU and Adreno 304 graphic processor. In addition, the device comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can be later expanded up to 256 GB with the help of a microSD card. Also, the device is available with both 1 GB and 2 GB of RAM.
Additionally, we can see that the device features 8.0 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens, autofocus rear camera. The rear comes with different features like geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. The front facing camera is of 2.0 mega pixels. The rear camera is capable of capturing HD videos at the resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels@30 fps.
The Huawei Y6 features Li-Po 2200 mAh removable battery. However, the device, just like other normal devices of Huawei lacks the fast charging functionality. But the device supports the power saving mode which helps to minimize the consumption of battery. the Huawei Y6 is available in white, black and gold colors.
