Huawei P9 Lite Review
Today we are evaluating Huawei P9 Lite, an Android smartphone manufactured by Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. Introducing Huawei, its a multinational company that has serving the world by manufacturing different types of equipment and smartphone. Following this trend, Huawei, dated back to April, 2016 released a new smartphone called the Huawei P9 Lite along with Huawei P9, and was the lite version of Huawei P9 having low processors and low camera.
The Huawei P9 Lite’s body is made completely made up of plastic and aluminum. The device’s rear part is made up of plastic, and the surroundings are made up of aluminum. However, its big brother Huawei P9 is completely made up of metal body. The device though made up of plastic, looks stylish and is taller and thick than its big brother. The device, however, lacks the protection of corning gorilla glass which is visible in Huawei P9. Moreover, the device has got the identical look as of other smartphones. We can see an earpiece, front facing camera, a notification LED light and different sensors on the top. The device equips the capacitive home, recent app and back button in the screen.
Besides, we can notice the volume alteration keys followed by a power button below it at the right side of its body which is seen in every Huawei smartphones. At the top of its body, we also can see a 3.5 mm earphone socket followed by an active noise cancellation mic. Furthermore, we can observe a microphone, speaker grille and a micro USB port at the bottom of the device. Besides, the SIM cards slots and microSD card slot can be seen at the left side of the device. The main facing camera, a LED flashlight can be noticed at the rear part followed by a fingerprint sensor below it.
Furthermore, the Huawei P9 Lite comes with 5.2 inches IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen and features its own user interface, Emotion UI v4.1. The device’s screen acquires HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels having ~401 ppi pixels density. The screen quality of the device is good and is contrast. Moreover, the screen provides intense colors and the text is sharp and clear and the viewing angles are also good. And because the screen is bright, the device can easily be used in the outdoor without any problem.
Similarly, the Huawei P9 Lite runs Android v6.0 Lollipop but will not get an Android 7.0 Nougat, whereas, its big brother Huawei P9 may soon get Nougat update. The device features HiSilicon Kirin 650 chipset. Moreover, the device is equipped with Octa-Core (4 x 2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 and 4 x 1.7 Cortex-A53) CPU and MaliT830MP2 GPU. Besides, the Huawei P9 Lite is featured by 16 GB of internal memory and has a microSD card slot which allows users to expand memory up to 128 GB with the help of a microSD card (SIM 2 slot). However, the device is available having both 2 GB and 3 GB of RAM.
In addition, we can experience 13 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens, autofocus, single LED flashlight rear camera in the Huawei P9 Lite. The rear camera comes with various features like 1/3″ sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. Moreover, the device features 8 MP front facing camera which allows us to quality self-portraits. The rear camera allows us to capture videos at 1080p. However, its big brother carries dual camera of 12 MP + 2 MP. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 carries 16 MP of rear facing camera and also is cheaper compared to this device.
Also, the Huawei P9 Lite arms 3000 mAh Li-Ion non-removable battery. Nevertheless, the Huawei P9 Lite lacks fast charging functionality which can be noticed in its big brother. Though the device doesn’t supports fast charging, the battery is perfect and gives nice battery backup. The device is available in black, white and gold colors.
