Ducati Hypermotard Review

Manufactured by a renowned Italian two-wheeler manufacturing company Ducati, the Ducati Hypermotard is a supermotard motorcycle. The Ducati Hypermotard which was first shown at EICMA trade show, Milan held in the year 2005, was designed by Pierre Terblanche. Besides, the bike has also been titled “Best of Show” and has won many other titles. Ducati has manufactured various variants like Hypermotard 821, Hypermotard 939, Hypermotard SP and Hypermotard 939 SP.

The Ducati Hypermotard 821 was launched in the year 2012 as a 2013 model. The 821 variant of Hypermotard features height and length of 1220 mm and 2110 mm respectively. The wheelbase of the bike is 1505 mm. Also, the 821 Hypermotard is equipped with marzocchi 50 mm pressurized and fully adjustable usd fork with hard anodized aluminium lightweight slide front suspension and progressive linkage with fully adjustable Ohlins mono-shock, aluminum single-sided swingarm rear suspension. Also, the bike is powered with testastretta 11° L-Twin, 4 desmodromically actuated valves per cylinder, liquid cooled 821.1 cc engine which produces max power and torque of 110 bhp and 89 Nm respectively.

Likewise, The Ducati Hypermotard 939 is slightly heavier than the Hypermotard. But thing to notice in the 939 Hypermotard is its new testastretta 11°, L-Twin cylinder, 4 valve per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled 937 cc engine capable of producing max power of 113 bhp @ 9000 RPM and torque of 97.9 Nm @ 7500 RPM. Also, the 939 variant is a bit longer than the 821 variant having the length of 2120 mm. Moreover, the bike possesses 43 mm usd forks fore suspension and progressive linkage with adjustable spring preload and rebound damping Sachs mono-shock, aluminum single-sided swing-arm rear suspension.

The Ducati Hypermotard SP was launched together with 821 Hypermotard in the year 2013, nevertheless, the bike a little bit lighter than the 821 variant because of the carbon fiber engine. Moreover, the SP variant is featured with same engine seen in the Hypermotard 821, and also provides same power and torque provided by the engine of 821 variant. Ducati, further, has featured the same suspensions equipped in the Hypermotard 821.

Similarly, the Ducati Hypermotard 939 SP is a new version of the Hypermotard 939 and is also lighter than the 939 variant having the weight of 201 kg. Also, the bike is powered with new testastretta 11°, L-Twin cylinder, 4 valves per cylinder, Desmodromic, liquid cooled, magnesium valve covers 937 cc engine that provides maximum power of 113 bhp @ 9000 RPM and maximum torque of 97.9 Nm @ 7500RPM. Besides, the bike is featured with Ohlins fully adjustable 48mm usd forks front suspension and progressive linkage with fully adjustable Ohlins mono-shock, aluminum single-sided swing-arm rear suspension.
