OnePlus One Review
Today we will review a smartphone called OnePlus One manufactured by OnePlus, a multinational mobile phone manufacturer company founded on December 16, 2013 by Pete Lau, former vice president of Oppo Smartphones. The company, in spite of competitors like Apple Inc., Samsung Electronics and other smartphone manufacturers which have been ruling the world for number of years, entered in the competition and proved out to be successful by manufacturing smartphones that were available in a little bit cheap prices(compared to iPhones and Samsung’s smartphones). The OnePlus released their first smartphone named OnePlus One on June 2014. Further, the OnePlus One was the predecessor of the OnePlus 2, OnePlus X, and so on. Just like other smartphones ran by Android OS, OnePlus One is also a smartphone that uses Android OS to run the device.
The OnePlus One is a huge smartphone and has got a unique body. The device has been made up of a different material at the rear side. Coming to the front, we can see that the device features the protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Moreover, the device has got identical look of the devices manufactured by OnePlus. We can see an earpiece on the top of the device followed by front facing camera and sensors. The device features a capacitive home button along with recent app and home button. Moreover, we can notice that the home button lacks a fingerprint sensor. Besides, a notification LED light can also be seen in the device.
Furthermore, users can notice that the device features a power-button on the right side of its body. The volume adjusting keys can be seen at the left side of the device followed by a SIM card tray just below it. However, the phone lacks the microSD card tray. The USB port, a mic and dual mono speaker grilles can be noticed at the bottom part of the device. Moreover, a 3.5 mm stereo headphone port can be seen at the top of the device. Moreover, we can spot an active noise cancellation mic at the top of the device and at the rear part alongside the rear camera.
Coming to the display, the OnePlus One comes with 5.5 inches LTPS IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen having the resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels ~401 ppi pixel density. Moreover, the device has got good viewing angles and has good contrast. However, the display has the problem that its slightly warmer which can be fixed by apps like screen adjuster that are predominantly found in Play Store. Furthermore, the device’s display is bright and provides vivid color.
Besides, the OnePlus One comes with Android OS v 4.4.2 Cyanogen OS 12 out of the box and is upgradable to Android OS v6.0.1 Marshmallow Cyanogen OS v13. Moreover, the device comprises of Qualcomm MSM8974AC Snapdragon 801 chipset. The device possesses Quad-Core 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU and similarly, the device is equipped by Adreno 330 GPU. The device is available on both having 16 GB and 64 GB of internal memory. The device, furthermore, possesses 3 GB of RAM.
Additionally, we can observe that the OnePlus One is equipped by 13 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens, autofocus rear camera. Similarly, a dual LED flashlight can also be seen below the rear camera. The rear comes with features like 1/3″ sensor size, 1.12 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR. The rear camera captures video at 2160p@30fps, 2160p(DCI)@24fps, 1080p@60fps and so on. Moreover, the device features 5 MP, f/2.0 aperture lens front facing camera and front camera also records video at 1080p@30fps.
Apart, the device is featured by preinstalled applications like Audio FX which allows the users to adjust the sound of the device. The device, moreover, features gesture mode that are supported on both unlocked and locked screen.
